Mission Race Cars is the result of a nearly life long ambition of mine to design and build an open wheeled road racing car. At an early age I was introduced to Grand Prix racing through the pages of a Road&Track magazine and I have been hooked on the sport ever since.

My racing experience combined with a degree in industrial design and many years as a product developer for the 3M Company have provided me with the skills, knowledge and contacts to tackle the design, development and construction of the MRC Formula First. With the support of my wife, Deanne, we plan to build cars that are well constructed, reliable and, most importantly, competitive.

Driving History

I started my racing career driving a Lola T540 Club Ford in 1987, winning my region’s Rookie of the Year Award. From there I advanced to a Ralt RT-5 that I drove in several professional events, including the 1990 Des Moines Grand Prix through the streets of Des Moines, in the now defunct Bosch Super Vee Championship. I returned to Formula Ford after 2 years and enjoyed the successes of qualifying for the SCCA Runoffs held at Mid Ohio in 2001, winning the Formula Ford East/West Challenge Championships in 2004 and 2005, and winning my region’s Driver of the Year Award in 2004.
