The Mission MRC-09 is a completely new Formula First race car built to compete in SCCA Road Racing. The design takes complete advantage of the rules for this relatively new road racing class.

The cars inboard front shocks and sleek bodywork improve top speeds. The vacuum bag construction method and foam inserts used for the bodywork result in an almost seamless fit and impressively lightweight parts.

Given the excellent aerodynamics, the MR-09 has a surprisingly roomy cockpit while maintaining substantial side protection.

Cars are currently offered in a kitform minus the required VW parts and other over-the-counter components. MRC will work with customers interested in turn key cars and build to agreed specifications.

What is Formula First?

Formula First is a non-winged, open wheeled road racing class sanctioned by the Sports Car Club of America (SCCA). The car is powered by a Volkswagen 1600cc air cooled flat four engine.

The rules are made to control costs and put the emphasis on driver ability and not budget. The rules require a tubular space frame chassis and the use of many standard VW components. The tuning of the engine is controlled through the use of a carburetor restrictor. Even given these restrictions the performance of a Formula First on a road course is remarkable.
